After 17 years in the classroom, I began my administrative career as a Teacher On Special Assignment (TOSA) at Westlawn Middle School. After one year as a TOSA, I received my first principal’s job at Jones Valley Elementary School. During my two-year tenure at Jones Valley, the school received the Blue Ribbon Schools of Excellence Lighthouse Award, which is the highest award given by the Blue Ribbon Schools of Excellence. The past three years, I have served as the principal at Virgil I. Grissom High School. Under my leadership at Grissom, we moved into a new multi-million-dollar state-of-the art facility and Grissom also was named a Blue Ribbon Schools of Excellence Lighthouse School.
