John Moore

As an educator my intent is to awaken my students’ abilities; to assist in charting the pathway to their own personal ethos and to use their “voice” through the arts. Finally, to take that ability and walk in this world with a sense of knowing why they are here.

I am a conceptual artist using object-based narratives to navigate the path to identity through self-awareness and social positioning. My process emerges as paintings, drawings, assemblage, writing, and installation. The intent of the work is to create a future construct with the timber of past and present material activated with imagination. My materials come from the real world, real places where things occur. The re-purposing of these objects to speak to present issues is a type of social recycling. “My art is a pathway for the seekers, permission to end the silence; a soul force kickin’ against the machine.”
