Melissa Smith

Hi! My name is Melissa Smith. I grew up in Flintville, Tennessee, and I have lived there most of my adult life. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with family and friends. I have one sister, four nieces, and many great nieces and nephews. I like to sky dive, play with my dog, and swim. I love also love working with kids and learning as much from them as they learn from me!

Licensure - Received a Class “A” Elementary K-6 Certificate in the states of Alabama and Tennessee

Acquired 895 hours of professional development training within the Huntsville City School System
For the past fifteen years, I have enjoyed the opportunity to work with students in Huntsville City Schools on both elementary and middle school levels. Previously I have taught first, third and fourth grades. I have also served as a Turnaround Specialist in a middle school and as a Curriculum Specialist in middle and elementary schools. This is my fourth year to teach first grade at MLK and I love it!
