Principal's Message: Success

If you can somehow think and dream of success in small steps, every time you make a step, every time you accomplish a small goal, it gives you confidence to go on from there. - John H. Johnson. When we visualize success, we usually think about the end product, with an image in our heads of you presiding over the Hip Hop Awards with every one looking. While it helps to see ourselves as successful, our images can sometimes seem far away. We risk becoming frustrated and disillusioned, which could slow our progress or make us give up on our dreams.

Success, or achievement, is never a one-step deal. By mapping out the route we need to take, we can break it down into individual steps, which will bring us gratification all along the way to our ultimate goal. Achieving these small goals proves that we have what it takes. Confidence builds slowly with daily reinforcement.

Promise yourselves you will do something that brings you closer to reaching one of your goals. We are all in this together - McNair Strong!

School-Parent Compacts

Dear McNair Families,

As a Title I school, McNair must meet federal mandated guidelines; one in particular, is every students and their parents must complete a School-Parent Compact. A School-Parent Compact is an agreement that parents, students, and teachers develop together. It explains how parents and teachers will work together to make sure all students reach grade level standards. If you attended orientation in August, you an your child probably completed a compact. Compacts were sent out in September and again in October for parents who did not complete one in August. We currently do not have a School-Parent Compact from every student enrolled at McNair, thus, we are not in compliance with federal mandates.

A large portion of our school's funding comes from the federal government. Not meeting the requirements of federal mandates jeopardizes our funding for instructional supports and supplies for students. We will send School-Parent Compacts home with students this week once again, please ensure you or your child returns the compact to a teacher or the front office staff.

We are all in this together - McNair Strong!
