Learning STEM Through Doing STEM
Does finding the the volume of rectangular prisms or doing math story problems sound fun to you? Well it is when you're doing it with math specialists Elizabeth Hughes and Rochelle Cantrell! They have worked with Montview students and teachers throughout the school year, and everyone is always happy to see them walk through the door. Their hands-on activities are so fun that it's easy to forget we're learning! Ms. Hughes and Ms. Cantrell work for the Alabama Math, Science, and Technology Initiative, commonly referred to as AMSTI, at the University of Alabama in Huntsville. AMSTI is the Alabama Department of Education’s initiative to improve STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) teaching statewide. Its mission is to support Alabama educators and students in learning STEM through doing STEM. Ms. Hughes and Ms. Cantrell, thank you for your support at Montview!
