Montview 50 Years Ago

Picture from the Huntsville Times 9-28-67 of Cave Hill Elementary principal Joe McFerrin welcoming students on opening dayMontivew Elementary School opened its doors to 600 students in September 1967.  Located on the Cave Hill site, it was named Montview because of its view of Monte Sano Mountain. Mr. Joe McFerrin was the principal.  The school was considered to be ultra-modern, with its moveable walls that provided large areas for group instruction.  The school hosted an Open House for the community on the afternoon of Sunday, October 15, 1967.

This year, as Montview marks its 50th birthday, we will again host the community at an Open House. Please visit the calendar entry for more information about this upcoming event.
