The goal of the Montview Library is to create lifelong learners who enjoy reading and are able to think critically and evaluate information effectively. The library provides students and teachers with materials that support the classroom curriculum.
Description of Services:
The Montview Elementary School Library provides students and staff with open access to 6,000 print resources and continuous access to over 100 eBooks. Library materials are carefully selected to supplement the school curriculum, ensure diversity, and inspire a love of reading and learning. The library is open from 7:45-2:25 for students to check out new materials, read, or work on research projects. The library operates on a combination fixed/flexible schedule, with pre-k-2nd grade having scheduled library classes and 3rd-5th grade classes coming to the library on an as-needed basis. All students are welcome to come in and check out books at any time throughout the day. The librarian collaborates with classroom teachers to plan small or whole group activities that incorporate library and information skills with classroom content.
