Ms. Boyd's News July 20, 2021
We are so excited to have the students coming back to the school and hopefully, all parents will be able to come in the building as well. Our theme for this school year is “BEST YEAR EVER!” We are going to try to do everything in our power to make learning fun. Last year was certainly a challenge and we need to see our students grow academically a year and a half this year. With your support, I am sure this can happen.
New this year is AFTER SCHOOL TUTORING for everyone from 2:30-4:30 and it is FREE. There are some rules to follow. Students will have to be picked up by 4:30. Good behavior is also a requirement. . The first day begins August 4th. Reading and Math will be the emphasis however, a recess and snack will be provided. Teachers in the grade level will be providing the extra tutoring.
For safety purposes, we will follow the guidelines provided by the district. Our district leaders follow directives from the State Superintendent as well as the CDC and other medical authorities. Safety is a priority.
OPEN HOUSE is on August 2nd from 1:00-4:00. From 1:00-2:00, the principal will speak and explain expectations and introduce the staff. Also, our new board member, Ryan Renaud will address us briefly. English speaking parents will meet in the cafeteria and Spanish speaking parents will meet in the AV room with an interpreter. Students will be given their classroom assignments and meet their teacher. Plus, we want parents to provide telephone numbers where they can be reached in case of an emergency. Teachers will need to know how students will be getting home after school.
After the meeting with principal, everyone is invited to visit the Heroes on Wheels which include the Firemen, Police Officer and Rescue Squad. Also, Kona Ice will be available for purchase.
The first day of school is August 4. Thank you again for supporting Morris Elementary.
