Mr. King's News
Dear Morris Faculty/Staff, Parents, and Students,
It is with great pride and excitement that I write to you as the principal of Morris Middle School! I am truly honored to become part of a community, which has already given me such a warm welcome. Everyone I have met has been great. Morris is a unique and special place.
This summer, I have been spending much of my time getting to know the building, looking at staffing needs, and familiarizing myself with the data and goals for Morris. I have learned that Morris has shown great improvement in growth and we will continue to strive to increase proficiency on standardized tests going forward. I am meeting dedicated educators who care about strong connections between home and school and staff members committed to developing the whole child.
My mom retired from Huntsville City Schools as the cafeteria manager at Morris many years ago. I used to visit her often at work. Coming back to Morris feels like coming home. My dad retired from Huntsville City Schools after working at Johnson, Stone, and Ed White. If you would like to know about my professional and personal background, feel free to visit my bio page here on the Morris website.
If you are not already involved in PTA I would encourage you to do that. We need stakeholders to be involved in our school. One of the most important aspects of my work here at Morris will be building strong relationships with students, teachers, and families. You will find me in the classrooms, hallways, and at athletic activities. Please help me share any celebrations and successes as we go through the year.
I look forward to meeting and working with the Morris family. We are going to have a great year as we continue to grow, learn, and educate our students together. There will be a meet and greet nearer to the beginning of school so we can all get together and meet, get to know one another, and begin to grow our family. Watch for more info soon.
