Mountain Gap Elementary School Counseling

Mountain Gap Elementary has one full-time guidance counselor, Julie Kastanakis, LPC.

Our guidance counselor teaches classes, meets with small groups, and provides individual counseling services to students on an as needed basis.

Guidance Classes: part of the Specials rotation (with Art, Music, PE, Library, and Science Lab); provide lessons that will promote and support individual and school success.

Lessons include, but are not limited to the following:
Study Skills Substance Abuse
Career Awareness, Exploration & Planning Multicultural/Diversity Awareness
Social Skills-Understanding Self & Others Individual Student Planning
Conflict Resolution Character Education
Goal Setting & Decision Making
