First Day of School

Monday, August 17 is the first day of school for the 2020-21 term.  Students enrolled in the Traditional Learning Framework will begin the 1st 9 weeks in Remote Learning due to the current COVID-19 health situation.  For information about what that will look like this year, please click the more information button below to view the Reset Plan Information Hub.

CONGRATULATIONS

  • Congratulations to Katarina Agnew who won first place in the regional Poetry Out Loud competition! Katarina will be representing New Century at the Poetry Out Loud state competition in March.
  • Angela Kowalczyk and Walden Wilder represented Huntsville High School this weekend at the Alabama State High School Swim and Dive Meet.
  • Emily Schoener and Madeline Turner’s artwork was selected for the state art show in Montgomery. Congratulations!
  • Congratulations to the debate team for another strong showing before Thanksgiving.  Keep up the good work!

PRE-ACT Results

10th grade students will receive their Pre-ACT results in advisory on Monday.  They will receive their test booklet, a score sheet, and an interpretive guide.

1:1 Initiative Feedback

The IT Department is holding parent meetings in order to gain insight and feedback regarding the district’s 1:1 initiative. Please join us from 6:00 until 7:00 pm on Tuesday, January 7th  in the Lecture Hall.  The discussion will focus on the use of technology in the classroom, student devices, and digital curriculum. We hope you can attend and discuss these topics. Your feedback is valuable in determining the district’s pathway over the next few years with the 1:1 initiative.
