Looking Forward 2/16/21
Schedule for this week
Monday is President’s Day – no school.
Anyone exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19 should remain home from school and seek medical treatment. Symptoms include new cough, new loss of taste or smell, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fever or chills, muscle or body aches, headaches, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, diarrhea, and fatigue. Absences due to COVID quarantine and COVID positive are marked using special attendance codes in INow so they do not count against the student. Please submit notes promptly for all absences to Ms. Lightfoot.
Tenth graders who were not able to participate in the PreACT testing last Wednesday are asked to be present in the school on Wednesday, February 17th to take this state-mandated test. Demographics will begin at 8:30 a.m. and testing should be complete by 12:30 p.m. We are limiting the number of students in each room so that social distancing can be maintained as much as possible. Each student will also have a desk shield to use throughout testing. All testing will take place on the upstairs New Century hallway by Mr. Sims’ office (room 212).
HVA STUDENTS: WE WANT YOU IN THE YEARBOOK
The yearbook staff invites all HVA families to submit photos using this form. We are desperate for photos, and while submissions are not guaranteed to appear in the yearbook, we definitely want to include our virtual students in our publication as much as possible. Photos can be submitted by students or parents here. Please do not include social media filters in your photos.
Yearbooks are still for sale and can be ordered through the Balfour website.
Ask an Astronaut!
Five of our students were invited to ask an astronaut a question which will be live-streamed by the US Chamber of Commerce! Register for the event to watch our students get a national spotlight!
