Looking Forward 3/1/21
Schedule for this week
Monday is an A day (ABABA week).
Please submit notes promptly for all absences to Ms. Lightfoot.
Anyone exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19 should remain home from school and seek medical treatment. Symptoms include new cough, new loss of taste or smell, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fever or chills, muscle or body aches, headaches, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, diarrhea, and fatigue. Absences due to COVID quarantine and COVID positive are marked using special attendance codes in INow so they do not count against the student. The school nurse should be notified of any COVID-related absences.
Congratulations to the debate team for an excellent showing in this weekend’s competition. Ella Duus came in first in Senate and qualified for Nationals. Jane Brennan qualified for Nationals in Humorous. Mike Hyatt is the alternate in US Extemporaneous. Congratulations to all who competed and thank you to the coaches!
Senior Prom Survey
Attention NCTHS Seniors!
Prom Committee asks that you please fill out this google form to help us obtain an approximate headcount. Follow instructions carefully! It's really short will barely take a few seconds. Thanks!
All Juniors (traditional and virtual) will take the ACT on March 9th. Testing will take place on the upstairs New Century hallway beginning at 8:30 a.m. Students must register online prior to taking the test and will receive instructions this week. We will be limiting the number of students in each testing room and providing desk shields for use during testing. Masks must be worn in the building.
March 9th will be a remote learning day for all other high school students (grades 9, 10, and 12).
The makeup PreACT will be administered on April 21 in rooms 212 and 214. All 10th graders (both traditional and virtual) who did not take the test in February will need to be present for this test.
HVA Students: We want you in the yearbook!
The yearbook staff invites all HVA families to submit photos using this form. We are desperate for photos, and while submissions are not guaranteed to appear in the yearbook, we definitely want to include our virtual students in our publication as much as possible. Photos can be submitted by students or parents here. Please do not include social media filters in your photos.
Prepaid school pictures were delivered to A1 teachers. Traditional students can pick them up on Monday during first period. Virtual students will be able to pick up their pictures from Mrs. Lightfoot in the main office beginning Tuesday.
Yearbooks are still for sale and can be ordered through the Balfour website.
