Looking Forward 3/22/21

Schedule for this week

Monday is a B day (BABAB week).

Please promptly submit notes for all absences to Ms. Lightfoot.

Anyone exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19 should remain home from school and seek medical treatment. Symptoms include new cough, new loss of taste or smell, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fever or chills, muscle or body aches, headaches, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, diarrhea, and fatigue. Absences due to COVID quarantine and COVID positive are marked using special attendance codes in INow so they do not count against the student.  The school nurse should be notified of any COVID-related absences.

Congratulations

Our Cyber teams were AWESOME today and in rare form! All 3 teams competed well in the University of Alabama Capture the Flag competition. Our top scoring team (the White Team) placed 3rd out of the 16 teams that competed in the virtual event with a total of 4,700 Points (and missed 2nd Place by only 100 Points). This is the 3rd year the University of Alabama (in Tuscaloosa) has had an annual Cyber Capture the Flag competition and is the first year we have had a team place in this competition.

Report Cards

The 3rd nine weeks ended on Friday, March 12th.  Grades are now available online and report cards are in the mail. Please contact your child’s teacher if you have questions about grades.

Flexible Scheduling for Next School Year

We are currently considering flexible scheduling options for the next school year. The document was e-mailed last week.  We ask that parents and students in grades 9-11 complete the survey to let us know what you think about the scheduling options being considered.

If semester-blocked classes are selected, we will support advanced placement classes by offering the class one semester and AP support for that class one day per week during zero period the other semester.   At this time, Lee High School plans to implement semester-blocked courses to the greatest extent possible.
