The Summer Reading program information is attached for your immediate reference.  Additionally, the information will be posted on the HCS webpage for students and parents and can be found by following these directions:

  • Hover over “Academics” tab
  • Go to “Curriculum” section.

If you have any questions or would like to know what shot your child is needing, please email one of the nurses (Lauren or Nichole)and we can let you know.  Thank you.

HUDSONALPHA GENE CHAT

Celebrate DNA Day with HudsonAlpha and participate in GeneChat, our annual social media blitz, April 24, 2020, 9 am to 2 pm CDT. DNA Day commemorates the completion of the Human Genome Project in April 2003 and the discovery of the DNA double helix in 1953. Students can begin submitting questions Monday, April 13 to the HudsonAlpha GeneChat Flipgrid page. DNA experts will answer your questions beginning at 9 am on April 24. We even developed a GeneChat Scavenger Hunt for students to dig through the resources highlighted on our grid topics to find the answers!

RESOURCE LIST

Ms. Hendon has put together an online resource list for students, parents, and teachers to use during this time. Visit the Library pgae to find her newest updates!

TEACHER AVAILABILITY

All teachers will have office hours from 9:00 a.m. until noon each school day.  This means they will be accessible by email or through Canvas during this time.  Please do not hesitate to reach out to teachers if you have questions.  Teachers may set up online discussions to assist multiple students at one time.

LAPTOP AND MATERIAL RETURN

At this time, schools are not allowed to collect materials including laptops and textbooks from students.  As soon as the Stay at Home order is relaxed, we will notify you of how items can be returned to the school.  Thank you for your patience.

MAIN OFFICE HOURS

We are required to limit the number of people in each school building at this time.  Email is the best way to reach all of us.  We will do our best to address all your questions and concerns in a timely manner while keeping the health and well-being of our employees in mind.
