Looking Forward 5/10/21

Congratulations to Sol Knuble and Kieran Moise for advancing to the National FlexFactor Finals on June 17th.  Good luck!

Schedule for the Week

Monday is a B day (BABAB week).

Please keep your student at home if they have been exposed to a person who tests positive for COVID or if they are exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19.  Symptoms include new cough, new loss of taste or smell, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fever or chills, muscle or body aches, headaches, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, diarrhea, and fatigue. Absences due to COVID quarantine and COVID positive are marked using special attendance codes in INow so they do not count against the student.  The school nurse should be notified of any COVID-related absences.

Underclassmen Awards

Underclassmen who were not able to attend the Awards Day Ceremony for their grade may pick up their certificates in the main office during normal school hours.

Thank you to those who have already ordered your book! We now have fewer than 25 copies of the yearbook available for purchase. They can be ordered here for $55.

From the Library

To all students, please return any textbooks you might have borrowed in previous years to Ms. Morrobel by the end of this year. There is no late fee or penalty, but we would like to have those books accounted for.

AP Exams

AP exams continue this week in the band room. Be on time for your scheduled AP exams.  Students taking AP courses but not taking the AP exam will be required to take a teacher-made exam for the class. Contact Mrs. Long with any questions about AP testing.

Senior Checklist and Exit Survey

Seniors please complete the HCS Senior Exit Survey in your Naviance account under the “About Me” tab, then “Surveys”, then “Surveys not completed”.  There is also a Senior checklist that also required for cap and gown pickup.

New Century’s graduation will take place on Thursday, May 27th at 1:00 pm at the Von Braun Center Arena.  Each graduating Senior will receive ten tickets for family and friends to attend the graduation ceremony.  We will follow all safety precautions in place at the VBC at that time.

Laptop Turn-In

All student laptops must be turned in after all exams have been taken (and no later than May 28th). A drive-through laptop drop-off will be available on May 28th near the theater entrance. Mrs. Clark will be taking up laptops in the building prior to May 28th.
