Congratulations to Zoe Salandy for being selected as the Columbia High School female Scholar-Athlete of the Year!

Thank You

Thank you to Mrs. Carter and the yearbook staff for a wonderful publication.  They sold out quickly. Great job!

Senior Portraits for 2023

Upcoming Seniors in the Class of 2023 should begin scheduling their Senior Portraits through Prestige Photography. Appointments can be scheduled online or by calling the Huntsville office at 256-382-2798. Our school code is 9YXPY. All senior portraits should be taken by November 1 in order for us to receive the portraits from Prestige in time to meet our yearbook deadline.

If your child has medications at school, the medication will need to be picked up by May 25 at 12:00. If not picked up by then all medications will be wasted in accordance with HCS policy. If your child has medications, a letter has been sent home with them for further details! If you have any questions please contact Nurse Brooke.

Students in grades 7-12 next school year who are interested in participating in the GEMS 2022 Summer STEM Program have until May 28th to apply for the program.  GEMS is a one week summer program on Redstone Arsenal.  Apply now.  Students are eligible for a $125 stipend with a full week of participation.

Gentle Reminders

Students are not allowed to order food to be delivered to the school or have someone bring outside food to them during the school day.  State law requires no competition with the school lunch program and we appreciate your adherence to this requirement.

Any time a student leaves campus during school hours, he/she must check out in the main office with Mrs. Lightfoot. If a parent emails Mrs. Lightfoot, please include a phone number so she can call to verify.

AP Students

There are a few makeup AP exams scheduled for this week which will cause bells to remain off on some days.  Contact Mrs. Manuel for any questions about AP testing.

ACCESS Course Work Cutoff

All work on ACCESS courses must be complete by 5/19/2022 for Seniors and 5/25/2022 for underclassmen.  Students must be at least 30% complete in a course by May 11th to potentially earn credit in the course.  The final exam in an ACCESS course is optional this semester only.  If a student chooses to take the final exam, the grade will stand and be used in calculating the final class average regardless of the outcome.
