TESTING ON TUESDAY, OCTOBER 1ST
All students will be testing on the morning of Tuesday, October 1st. Tenth graders will be taking the PreACT. This is required by the state and is used to calculate student growth between this test and the ACT in 11th grade. Seniors will all be taking WorkKeys. This test is also required by the state and provides a College and Career Readiness Indicator for those students who score at the Silver level or above. Students must bring a photo id to the testing room to be admitted if the test administrator does not know them.
Students in ninth and eleventh grades will be taking a Practice ACT test. This will help the students prepare for test which is administered in the spring of the eleventh grade and will provide valuable data for the teachers to use in preparing instruction.
Students are encouraged to bring their own calculator so they are familiar with the one being used during the test. No electronics (other than approved calculators) or reading material are allowed in the testing rooms. Backpacks must be left in the hallway and retrieved only after testing is complete.
Power Hour will be from 12:00 until 1:00 on Tuesday only to accommodate for testing time.
Tuesday is a full student day. Anyone wishing to leave after testing must turn in a checkout note to Mrs. Lightfoot before 8:30.
Please make sure students are present on time so that testing may begin without delay.
TAKE 10 FOR PUBLIC EDUCATION
The Alabama State Department of Education is conducting a statewide survey concerning some of the perceptions on public education in the state. The compilation of this data will be instrumental in the development of a Strategic Plan for Alabama’s public schools. The TAKE 10 FOR PUBLIC EDUCATION survey was designed to allow officials at the ALSDE to have a glimpse into the vantage point of Alabamians from every walk of life. The survey may only take 10 minutes to complete, but the impact on the department’s Strategic Plan will resonate for years to come. Take the Take 10 survey now.
