CONGRATULATIONS

Congratulations to Nia Timmons and Sierra Monroe for earning their lab coats as part of the HudsonAlpha LABS program.

TAKE 10 FOR PUBLIC EDUCATION

The Alabama State Department of Education is conducting a statewide survey concerning some of the perceptions on public education in the state.  The compilation of this data will be instrumental in the development of a Strategic Plan for Alabama’s public schools. The TAKE 10 FOR PUBLIC EDUCATION survey was designed to allow officials at the ALSDE to have a glimpse into the vantage point of Alabamians from every walk of life. The survey may only take 10 minutes to complete, but the impact on the department’s Strategic Plan will resonate for years to come. Take the survey.

ATTENDANCE

Attendance matters so please make it a priority for your student to be in school and on time.  If a student is absent, an excuse should be turned in to Mrs. Lightfoot by email at Belinda.lightfoot@hsv-k12.org or upon return to school in the main office.  Once a student is present at school, they are expected to be present in classes unless checked out by a parent or guardian.  All check-ins and check-outs for New Century are handled by Mrs. Lightfoot also.  Please be sure to include a contact number on all correspondence for verification.  For check-outs, send a note in with your student in the morning or email Mrs. Lightfoot at Belinda.lightfoot@hsv-k12.org  by noon.  No phone check-outs are allowed.
