Weather Notice

Due to the potential for icy road conditions, Huntsville City Schools will operate on a 2-hour delay on Wednesday, December 11, 2019. The two-hour delay will also apply to all HCS employees, unless otherwise directed by your supervisor.  All elementary, middle, and junior high classes will begin at 10:00am.  All high school classes will begin at 10:30am.  Buses will also run on a two-hour delayed schedule. 

 

Huntsville City Schools Weather Safety Team, working in conjunction with the EMA and other local agencies, will continue to monitor conditions and send out updates should any additional changes be necessary.  For more information about the weather safety decision process, please select the more information link below.

2019-2020 Providence Elementary Supply Lists

Pre-K

  • 1 backpack (no wheels)
  • 1 nap mat with attached cover
  • 1 change of clothes (season appropriate)
  • 1 sandwich/quart size Ziploc bags (girls)
  • 1 gallon size Ziploc bags (boys)

Kindergarten

  • 1 plastic school box - approx. 8⅜x5⅝x2⅛
  • 24 #2 pencils
  • 1 set wired headphones (no earbuds)
  • 2 boxes of Band-Aids
  • 6 boxes – 24 count Crayola crayons
  • 1 box of Crayola brand markers
  • 1 Expo brand white board marker (low odor – black)
  • 1 8 oz. bottle of Elmer’s white school glue
  • 12 glue sticks
  • 1 vinyl mat and towel (no sleeping bags, pillows, or blankets. Towels sent home each Friday for cleaning)

  • 1 backpack (large/sturdy enough to hold a 3-ring binder, no wheels)

First Grade

  • 4 dozen #2 Ticonderoga pencils (do not put child’s name on pencils)

  • 1 canvas pencil pouch, not plastic (please label with child’s name)

Notes

  • Some supplies will need to be replenished throughout the year, such as glue sticks, pencils, and paper. Teachers will notify you when they are needed.
