DAR Citizenship Writing Contest Winner

Our 5th grade students were invited to participate in the DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution) writing contest. The students wrote about the historic Boston Massacre. Our three participants Nahla Bessent, Maya Irvin and Alexa Zumaya-Canteno all received certificates of participation for their essays.

The DAR also give a citizenship medal to a deserving 5th grader from each participating school. Each class teacher nominated a student from their class and each nominee submitted an essay. Our class winners are Nia Moore (Mrs.Cook), Caden Criner (Ms.Magnuson), and Malia James (Ms.Wilson). The student who won the  DAR Citizenship Medal for 2020/2021 for Providence Elementary IB World School was Malia James.
