Library Shout Out

Science is one of the most important subjects students study, because it gives them the critical thinking skills they need in every subject. With that being said, congratulations to our librarian, Mrs. Michelle Barnett for winning the Bearport's Eco-Disasters book series, the Teachers' Choice Award Winning series. This book series will be instrumental to the students at Providence Elementary where science is important and reading is fundamental.  Students will uncover the truth about what caused the tragedy, the disaster's devastating toll on people and the environment, steps taken to remedy the problem, as well as what can be done to prevent another catastrophe from happening in the future. They will be thrilled as they read how the characters try to save the day while learning about science along the way. Natural disasters are the perfect catalyst for a mixture of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM).
