Providence Service Project

Saturday, February 1, 2020 - 3:30pm to Friday, February 28, 2020 - 3:30pm
  • Organization: United Negro College Fund (UNCF)
  • Founders: Frederick D. Patterson and Mary McLeod Bethune
  • Founded: 1944
  • Motto: A mind is a terrible thing to waste.
  • Purpose: To help minority students attend and graduate from college

As we kick off Black History Month, we are grateful for the many sacrifices and contributions of important people and events. With that being said, we are a school community that gives. This year, we are asking each student to give to the United Negro College Fund. The UNCF is an organization that funds scholarships for minority students that attend Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU). This organization helps students that need assistant, pay for outstanding bills, textbooks, housing, and tuition. Each grade level is asked to support this service project by donating the following:

  • PreK and Kindergarten $1.00 (paper bill)
  • First Grade: $1.01 (paper bill and one penny)
  • Second Grade: $1.02 (4 quarters and 2 pennies)
  • Third Grade: $1.03 (10 dimes and 3 pennies)
  • Fourth Grade $1.04 (20 nickels and 4 pennies)
  • Fifth Grade $1.05 (105 pennies)
  • Faculty and Staff (Parents feel free to join the cause) $6.15
