Remote Learning Day
Out of an abundance of caution, all Huntsville City Schools (HCS) students will engage in remote learning on Friday, Feb. 19, 2021. Additionally, all employees will work remotely (unless otherwise directed by their supervisor).
District leaders recognize some areas may no longer may be witnessing the impacts of last night's weather event. However, they are also mindful of possible travel conditions for students, families, and staff members commuting from both within and outside city limits as snow melts, water accumulates, and ice potentially forms on roadways with temperatures expected to remain below freezing for most of the school day.
Teachers will upload lessons in advance to provide families the flexibility to access instruction and materials throughout the day. Instruction will begin at the following times on Friday, and teachers will be reaching out to students with more information:
- 8:00AM: Elementary and Middle/Junior High Schools
- 8:30AM: High Schools
District leaders will continue to monitor conditions and communicate any updates to stakeholders. Connect with HCS on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and here on the district website for official district news and information.
