Sandra Collier

I was born and raised in Huntsville and am a product of Huntsville City Schools. The 2018-19 school year is my 25th year teaching for HCS, and my tenth year teaching Regular and Honors English 8 at WP8. I am honored and excited to be teaching, guiding, and encouraging your child in working toward another successful year of learning.

Music and singing have always been an important part of my life, and each summer I lead the music at the Guntersville Church on the Lake. I greatly enjoy spending time with my family and friends. My hobbies are gardening, going to the gym, cooking, decorating, reading, writing, traveling, and being anywhere near the water.

Before transferring to WP8, I taught the four core subjects, at various grade levels 7-12, for many years on the Homebound Program at the Seldon Center, which was the former HCS Alternative School.
While teaching at the Seldon Center, I also taught evening remediation Adult Education classes for the GED Program at Calhoun College.
Prior to beginning my teaching career, I worked in the fields of government procurement, contract negotiation, and banking.
