"Show and Share" Laptop Showcase:

We invite you to stop by one of our High Schools on the Dates/Times listed below to review the three laptop devices we are considering for the 2015 school year.  You will have an opportunity to review each device and share feedback during each showcase opportunity - students, parents and community members are invited to review the devices and share feedback:

  • Monday, Dec. 8th at Johnson High School - 5:00pm - 6:00pm
  • Tuesday, Dec. 9th at Grissom High School - 6:00pm-7:00pm
  • Thursday, Dec. 11th at Huntsville High School - 5:30pm - 6:30pm
  • Tuesday, Jan. 13th at Lee HS/New Century HS - 6:00pm - 7:00pm
  • Thursday, Jan. 15th at Columbia High School - 4:30pm - 5:30pm - Cancelled Due to Weather RESCHEDULED to Tuesday, Jan. 27th 5:00pm-6:00pm at Columbia HS
  • Friday, Jan. 16th at Butler High School - 5:30pm - 6:30pm - MOVED TO JOHNSON HS
  • Tuesday, January 20th at Butler High School - 5:30pm-6:30pm

Why technology is so important: 

·         98% middle/high students own a digital device. 

·         27% of students say their laptop is their most important tool in the backpack. 

·         38% of students say they can’t go 10 minutes without using a digital device. 

·         75% of students say they would not be able to study without technology.  

·         46% of students say they are more likely to do their homework if it is on their digital device. 

·         80% of students use digital devices to write or research for class homework.   (Source:  educ.

Parent workshops were held throughout the school district to demonstrate the new Digital Curriculum, assist with Technical Issues, introduce Edmodo, etc.  If you were not able to attend, the program below has the highlights.
