Earth Day is a special day at ASFL each year. Our students participate in different science activities that center around our Earth and conservation. This year, the weather caused us to change our plan a little. Even though the rain forced us to postpone a scavenger hunt and our campus cleanup, students were still able to visit the Alabama A&M University STEM Bus, and receive a sweet treat. On the STEM bus, students learned about ways they can help the earth through a coding activity using Ozobots. Students worked in pairs to code the bots to choose the correct answers to different scenarios. For their treats, students got dirt in a cup, a pudding cup with Oreos and gummy worms. It was a fun day of learning for ours students, and we look forward to doing the 2 postponed activities in the coming weeks.
