Academy for Science & Foreign Language Elementary School

Students in the GATE programs at ASFL, AAA, and Morris worked hard to learn the card game Bridge throughout the year. Under the leadership of the GATE teachers, students learned the different, thought-provoking strategies the game requires. On Friday, May 2nd, the students from these schools came to ASFL Elementary to participate in the 1st Annual Jumpstart Bridge Tournament for HCS. This program and tournament were graciously sponsored by the local Bridge Community that is part of the American Contract Bridge League (ACBL). There were 28 trophies given out at the tournament and ASFL won 16! We appreciate the generosity of the ACBL, and the other schools for participating in this tournament and hope to continue it next year!
