Academy for Science & Foreign Language Elementary School

Together with our middle school, we have earned the Magnet Schools of America Certified Demonstration Magnet School certification! We are one of 19 schools nationally to earn this distinction, and the only school in Alabama to do so! To earn this certification, schools have to complete a rigorous application process, being judged against the 5 pillars of magnet school: Diversity, Innovative Curriculum and Professional Development, Academic Excellence, Leadership, and Family and Community Partnerships. By being named a Certified Demonstration Magnet School, we have earned the highest level of certification from Magnet Schools of America, exceeding the criteria of the standards. We are proud of the hard work of the students, staff, and leadership team at our school on achieving this incredible honor!
