Our 4th and 5th grade GATE students have begun working on their 1st service learning project of the year. The students in the class work together each year to choose a project to help our community. Under the guidance of their teacher, students organize the project from start to finish, including advertising and encouraging our student body to participate. Their 1st project is a Food Drive to benefit the North Alabama Food Drive. All donations of non-perishable items can be dropped off in the lobby of the school. The class with the most donations will win a pizza party! Last spring, they collected 322 items. Their goal this year is 500! Let's join and support our GATE students and make their 1st service learning project a success!
