Students in masks and lab coats posing with a dogfish shark

Our 5th grade GATE students made ASFL history! They became the 1st the first students to dissect a dogfish shark. Under the guidance of Mrs. Allen and Dr. Foster, students learned about the anatomy of a shark and were able to compare and contrast it to human anatomy. They even got treated to a special surprise by discovering that the shark had two embryos that were connected to their yolk sacs. What an unbelievable and memorable lesson for our students!
