Mariachi performer on stage in the Chaffee cafeteria that is decorated for Hispanic Heritage Month. Below him is students watching as he performs

On Monday, September 15th, Chaffee had a Hispanic Heritage Month program. The students and staff were dressed in traditional clothing or the colors of red, green, and white. Students got to walk in with the flag of their country. The students were so excited to celebrate their culture. The assembly also had a traditional Mariachi performer. He was wonderful and even got the children to sing along! Columbia High School had students perform a traditional dance. Lastly, trivia questions were asked, and students were able to win prizes! It was amazing to celebrate different cultures and see the smiles on the students' faces! It is important that all students' cultures feel seen and celebrated! We will finish off the week by having a Hispanic Heritage Month dress-up week. It has been so fun to celebrate all week.
