Greetings Chaffee Families,
As a reminder all HCS are closed Monday, January 19, in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. Please take a moment to reflect with your family the impact of Dr. King’s life on our country.
On Tuesday we celebrate our 100th Day of School! Teachers will provide information if they need anything for their classroom.
Next month is Black History Month. Shirts will be sold. An order form will be in this week’s Wednesday Folder or you can order online.
All students should finish i-Ready and DIBELS middle of the year testing this week. Then teachers will look at data to determine next steps to support students. Students who met their middle of the year i-Ready goals or scored on grade level will be invited to the i-Ready Winter Carnival. Our i-Ready Winter Carnival is scheduled for Monday, January 26!
PreK Registration is open for the 2026-2027 school year!
We want our students to be Number Ninjas! Keep practicing math facts with your child(ren)!
Please remember that students need tennis shoes/sneakers for PE daily. Wearing proper shoes prevents injuries.
Each day we remind students to make Chaffee Choices: Cooperate with Others, Engage in All Tasks, and Show Respect. Please reiterate these school expectations at home. Our students have excellent behavior at school, and we want that to continue. Your partnership in reminding students of behavior expectations is vital to student success. Later this month we will have our PBIS Celebration, and we want all students to earn this celebration. It’s going to be a very fun Board Game Bonanza!

Do you want additional support for improving your students' handwriting?
If you answered yes to any of these questions, then make sure you attend our Handwriting Helps Parent Meeting by HCS Occupational Therapist, Emily Sims, on Thursday January 29th, at 1:45pm. Park in carline and check in at the office for a quick 30 minute meeting that will have you out in time for dismissal. All parents who attend will have a make and take to help support their student(s) at home with handwriting!
