Greetings Chaffee Families,

I can hardly believe it’s already February! This month brings many exciting events.

Our 1st graders will kick off their Eagle Readers challenge on Friday and will be ‘Wild about Reading’ for the next ten weeks. First graders will bring links to school to represent the books and chapters of books they read at home. We love to see the links grow in the hallway!

This week we will kick off our last PTA fundraiser of the year: Buddy A Thon! Please watch Wednesday Folders and social media for more information!

This month we will also have Valentine’s Day parties. Students are allowed to bring Valentines for their classmates. Classroom teachers will provide more information about this. As a reminder, all food items should be store bought. Since we have a half day of school on Valentine’s Day, teachers are getting creative with the party schedule. Your child’s teacher will share party details with you. As a reminder, siblings are not allowed to attend class parties or field trips. Thank you for adhereing to this guideline.

February is Black History Month. Ms. Green and the Black History Month Committee have planned exciting educational activities related to Black History Month, including daily trivia with prizes. Our Black History Month program will be held later this month. This is your final opportunity to order a shirt for Black History Month. The online store will close Monday morning. You can also order online here.

We hope to see you tomorrow night at our spirit night.

We want our students to be Number Ninjas! Keep practicing math facts with your child(ren)!

You can still purchase your child's yearbook online here. We only have 12 yearbooks left to sell!

Soar Eagles,

April Clark
