Greetings Chaffee Families,

I hope your family had a terrific spring break! We have nine weeks left in this school year, and every day counts for our students’ academic success. When you stress the importance of school, your child will understand the importance of school. We love working with your family, and we are here for anything you may need.

Spring ACAP Testing begins this week for our 2nd and 3rd graders! Please make sure students arrive to school on time, eat a healthy breakfast at home or at school, and have their charged laptop. Please encourage your child to do his/her best. Every test is practice for the next test!

Report Cards will go home with students Friday. If you have any questions or concerns about your child’s report card, feel free to reach out to your child’s teacher to set up a conference.

Thank you to everyone who volunteered at and attended our Decades Bash! It was a fun time!

K for a Day will be held Friday, April 17! This is an event for students entering Kindergarten next year and their parents. We can’t wait to meet our new students on this day! Please help spread the word to your neighbors.

Our next PBIS Celebration is Friday, April 10. Students must earn the required number of tickets to attend PBIS Celebration (as determined by each grade level). If a student has an Office Disciplinary Referral (a Level 2 or higher behavior infraction as outlined in the HCS Student Code of Contact), (s)he will not attend the PBIS Celebration. Additionally, 4th and 5th grade students will not be allowed to attend the PBIS Celebration if they have unfinished work. We will continue to remind students of these requirements. Please talk to your child(ren) about appropriate school behavior and expectations. Our students learn more when they are allowed to focus on learning instead of horseplay. Thank you for your support.

We look forward to welcoming you to Donuts with Grownups on Monday, March 30, at 7:20-8am, followed by a Parent Workshop titled Social-Emotional Learning Skills at 8-8:30am. Please Park at Community Fellowship Baptist Church on Logan Drive for this event as our back parking lot only has enough parking spots for our faculty and staff. Thank you for understanding!

Returning Student Registration for the 2026-27 school year is open! An email with directions has been sent from the district to the primary email address on file for each student. Please complete registration as soon as possible so that we can plan for next year. Please encourage your friends to register as soon as possible. You can reach out to Ms. Cothren or Ms. Carter with any questions.

Soar Eagles,

April Clark
