Chaffee Elementary School Logo

Greetings Chaffee Families,

We look forward to welcoming you to Donuts with Grownups on Monday, March 30, at 7:20-8am, followed by a Parent Workshop titled Social-Emotional Learning Skills at 8-8:30am. Please park at Community Fellowship Baptist Church on Logan Drive for this event as our back parking lot only has enough parking spots for our faculty and staff. Thank you for understanding!

This Friday is a half day of school. Students will be dismissed at 11:30am.

Spring ACAP Testing begins this week for our 4th and 5th graders! See the schedule below for all test dates. Please make sure students arrive to school on time, eat a healthy breakfast at home or at school, and have their charged laptop. Please encourage your child to do his/her best. Every test is practice for the next test!

Are you interested in serving on the PTA Board for the 2026-2027 school year? We would love to have you! Our Nominating Committee is currently seeking parents/guardians to fill PTA Executive Board positions for VP Legislation and Secretary, as well as committee chair positions for Fundraising, Community Sponsorships, Eagle Run, Penguin Patch, Hospitality, and Fall Auction.

We will host our Career Fair on Tuesday, April 21. We would love to showcase a wide variety of careers and industries. Whether you work in healthcare, engineering, business, technology, public service, the trades, creative arts, or any other field, your time and insight can help students begin thinking about the many opportunities available to them in the future! If you are interested in participating in the Career Fair, please email our school counselor, Ms. Burwell.

K for a Day will be held Friday, April 17! This is an event for students entering Kindergarten next year and their parents. We can’t wait to meet our new students on this day! Please help spread the word to your neighbors. See the flyer below for more details. New student registration hasn’t opened yet, but you can register your rising kindergarten student for K for a Day.

Our next PBIS Celebration is Friday, April 10. Sign up to volunteer here. Students must earn the required number of tickets to attend PBIS Celebration (as determined by each grade level). If a student has an Office Disciplinary Referral (a Level 2 or higher behavior infraction as outlined in the HCS Student Code of Contact), (s)he will not attend the PBIS Celebration. Additionally, 4th and 5th grade students will not be allowed to attend the PBIS Celebration if they have unfinished work. We will continue to remind students of these requirements. Please talk to your child(ren) about appropriate school behavior and expectations. Our students learn more when they are allowed to focus on learning instead of horseplay. Thank you for your support.

Returning Student Registration for the 2026-27 school year is open! An email with directions has been sent from the district to the primary email address on file for each student. Please complete registration as soon as possible so that we can plan for next year. Please encourage your friends to register as soon as possible. You can reach out to Ms. Cothren or Ms. Carter with any questions.

Our attendance rate has improved since the sickness of January and February took us by storm! Let’s keep it up! Every day counts for our students’ academic, social, and emotional well-being. When you stress the importance of school, your child will understand the importance of school. Thank you for your help with this.

Soar Eagles,

April Clark
