Greetings Chaffee Families,
This week we will begin DIBELS testing for grades K-3. This test only takes about 10 minutes per student and is an excellent indicator of early literacy skills. We will also begin our final i-Ready Reading and Math tests of the school year, spread across this week and next week. Each of these tests will take about an hour. We hope to see a lot of growth from the beginning of the year test. Student results will help our teachers to know where to start with individualized instruction next year. Encourage your child(ren) to do their best.
Please join us Tuesday evening for our Spring PTA Meeting at 5:30pm, followed by Family Literacy Night at 6:00-7:15pm. The Book Fair will be open from 6:15-7:15pm. Rocket City Shaved Ice will be on site. Parking is NOT available at Community Fellowship Church. Instead, you should park at the school and on the road in front of the school, obeying all traffic laws. Please see the flyers for more information. It’s going to be a fun night!
Teacher Appreciation Week is May 4-8, and we are collecting gift cards so that each faculty and staff member receives one. I hope you will join in and help our teachers feel loved all week! Please sign up to donate a gift card or money to be used toward a gift card. Thank you for your support!
Do you want to help with our Spring Book Fair? Volunteer.
Our next PBIS Celebration is Friday, May 8. Students will have an ice cream social!
New and Returning Student Registration for the 2026-27 school year is open! An email with directions has been sent from the district to the primary email address on file for each returning student. Please complete registration as soon as possible so that we can plan for next year. Please encourage your friends to register as soon as possible. You can reach out to Ms. Cothren or Ms. Carter with any questions.
We have roughly four weeks of school left. Let’s finish strong with excellent attendance!! Every day counts for our students’ academic, social, and emotional well-being. When you stress the importance of school, your child will understand the importance of school. Thank you for your help with this.
Our Awards Day Celebrations will be held in May. Students can earn the following awards: All As, All As & Bs, Excellent Attendance, i-Ready Reading/Math Growth, and Governors’ Physical Fitness. There will be other awards given specific to each grade level. We hope that you can join us to celebrate our students. Grade level dates and times are shared below.
