Greetings Chaffee Families,
We had a wonderful first week at Chaffee! Thank you for your continued support of our school. Everyone is settling into his/her new classroom very nicely. The students are learning the school’s expectations and procedures and are learning that Chaffee Choices Equal Success!
Thank you for your patience as we work through so many things at the beginning of the year. Carline is moving quicker each day. Our remaining PreK students will begin school this week, so please be aware that they will drive around the car line in the mornings and afternoons. Thank you to the faculty and staff who have all pitched in to help in the mornings and afternoons. We truly are off to a fantastic start!
As a reminder, all school visitors must check in through the front office using his or her driver’s license/identification, so please have it with you if you need to check out your child.
Don't forget to order your child's Chaffee shirt! Paper order forms with payment are due Friday, August 14. Online orders close Friday, August 14.
Please note that our PTA Meeting with Open House will be Tuesday, August 25, 5:45-7pm. We hope to see your family there.
Fall pictures will be taken this Friday during the school day. These are the photos that will be included in our yearbook.
Students learn best when they are at school. If your child has to be absent due to sickness, don’t forget to send/email a parent or doctor excuse note within two days of your child’s absence. We will adhere to the following truancy guidelines:
After 3 unexcused absences parent/guardian will receive a First Notification Letter from the school with a reminder of our attendance policy.
After 5 unexcused absences parent/guardian will receive a Second Notification Letter from the school with an invitation to attend an Early Warning Conference to discuss the student’s absences.
Thank you for a GREAT start to the school year! It has absolutely been a team effort between teachers, parents, guardians, and students! I hope you all have a wonderful Sunday.
Soar Eagles,
April Clark
Principal
