Greetings Chaffee Families,
We look forward to seeing you at our PTA Meeting with Fall Open House this Tuesday, August 25, 5:45-7:00pm. As a reminder, our back parking lot fills quickly. Do not block the movement of the cars. You are welcome to park legally on roads in our Chaffee neighborhood. Please enter via the cafeteria doors. I encourage everyone to join our PTA! We are very fortunate to have such a hardworking and supportive PTA. Becoming a member is a wonderful way to support the school and your child, so we hope you will join if you have not done so already. We are currently in a membership competition against Farley Elementary and want to win!! Membership is only $5/person through August 31!
This Friday afternoon we will kick off our fall fundraiser, the Eagle Run! All information will be in Wednesday Folders, and students will attend a fun kick-off assembly on Friday. Our goal is to raise money for our school to purchase needed equipment, academic resources, and furniture for our school. If each student raises at least $50 we will exceed our goal of raising $16,000 for our school. I hope your family will participate!
We are in search of special education instructional assistants (hired through Kelly Education). If you are interested in working in this area, or know someone who is, please reach out. Chaffee is a great place to work!
Students learn best when they are at school. If your child has to be absent due to sickness, don’t forget to send/email a parent or doctor excuse note within a few days of your child’s absence. We will adhere to the following truancy guidelines:
After 3 unexcused absences, parent/guardian will receive a First Notification Letter from the school with a reminder of our attendance policy.
After 5 unexcused absences, parent/guardian will receive a Second Notification Letter from the school with an invitation to attend an Early Warning Conference to discuss the student’s absences.
We want to work with you to support your child’s regular attendance. Please reach out with any questions or concerns.
Soar Eagles,
April Clark
Principal
