Greetings Chaffee Families,
I hope your family had a fun and restful Fall Break. We look forward to seeing our students back at school tomorrow to begin the second quarter of the school year. Report Cards will go home Friday!
We can't wait to host our Grandparent's Lunch on Tuesday, October 20! If your child's grandparents are unable to attend, please know that we welcome any special adult(s) in your child's life. Lunch is pre-order only and orders are due by Monday, October 12. The order form was sent home this past week. If you need another copy, please reach out to your child’s teacher or the front office or see the flyer in the newsletter below. Guests should arrive 15-20 minutes before the grade level lunch time and check in at the front office with their identification. The Book Fair will be open for shopping too!
This week is National School Lunch Week, and the theme is “Cafeteria Circus: Where Nutrition Takes Center Stage.” We appreciate the lunches our Child Nutrition Program provides each day. On Thursday students are invited to bring a stuffed animal to school to celebrate National School Lunch Week.
It’s Hispanic Heritage Month, and we have been celebrating daily. Before Fall Break our students were treated to a fantastic Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration. We have students at Chaffee who represent more than TEN Latin countries! Thank you for your participation in celebrating this month!
September was Attendance Awareness Month, and our students showed up! We had the third highest attendance rate in the district. Our attendance winners were as follows: grade level winner was 4th grade; class winner was a tie for Ms. Haynes’ and Ms. Barber’s classes!! These students will receive their attendance incentives this week.
Our fall Book Fair is October 19-23. Volunteer!
Please remember that students need tennis shoes/sneakers for PE daily. Wearing proper shoes prevents injuries.
We reached $13,000 during the Eagle Run! We are scheduling our school prizes this week and hope to have everything finalized this month. Thank you to everyone who raised money for our school!
