Chaffee Elementary Logo

Greetings Chaffee Families,

It’s Red Ribbon Week! A flyer was sent home this past week with each day’s theme. The flyer is also included below in the newsletter. We hope your child(ren) will join us in dressing up each day. Friday is extra special as it’s Book Character Day! Students may dress as a book character who makes good choices (please remember that anything symbolizing/resembling a weapon should not be brought to school). We will have a Book Character Parade on the blacktop Friday afternoon, weather permitting.

We loved hosting Grandparents Lunch last week! Everyone was so complimentary of our school and seemed to have a wonderful time! We sold a lot of books at the Book Fair, so I’m sure your family has been reading this weekend!

The Penguin Patch Holiday Shop is a unique experience for Chaffee students each year to make a budget and shop for their loved ones for the holiday season. Each year we have at least 2 parents who come for the entire school day, 8:30am-1:30pm, to run our Penguin Patch Holiday Shop (with a sprinkle of short shifts by other parents). This year our presents are stocked but our full day parent staff is depleted. Are you free to contribute a full day to this beloved shopping experience for our Chaffee Eagles? If so, please volunteer!

We reached $13,000 during the Eagle Run! We have scheduled our school prizes! This past Friday students participated in Tattoo a Teacher and Splashed Ms. Clark. We had a blast! Our Eagle Run Scavenger Hunt will be November 12 for all students who raised $50 or more. Thank you again to everyone who raised money for our school!

Please remember that students need tennis shoes/sneakers for PE daily. Wearing proper shoes prevents injuries.

There are several fall themed community events this week!

We need students at school every day unless they have symptoms of sickness (fever, vomiting, or other contagious symptoms). You are welcome to reach out to Nurse Cat if you are ever in doubt about your child’s symptoms. Every school day is full of learning that cannot be replicated outside of school, and we don’t want our students to fall behind. Thank you for showing your child that excellent school attendance is a priority.

Soar Eagles,

April Clark
