4 Forensic students in lab looking through microscopes recording about samples

Oh no, a wealthy local resident "Mr. Big" was murdered!

Our Forensics students, better known as the Columbia CSI Team recently studied hair as a type of forensic evidence.

The students learned that hair is a valuable tool for forensic scientists. It is more resistant to decay than most other body tissues and fluids, thus remaining intact far longer than other other evidence.

This durability makes hair one of the most frequently found pieces of evidence at crime scenes.

Students also learned how to classify and compare hair samples.  Students can be seen here analyzing actual hair samples to match those found at the crime scene to those of suspects. They then had to decide who killed Mr. Big.

The students learned an abundance of information.
