Columbia High School JROTC Cadets proudly represented their school and community after being selected over 11 other area programs to present the Color Guard at the Alabama League of Municipalities’ 90th Anniversary Convention. The event took place at the Von Braun Center in Huntsville, Alabama.

This prestigious gathering brought together mayors and city council members from across the state and was hosted by League President, Mayor Mark Saliba of Dothan. Alabama Governor Kay Ivey served as the keynote speaker.

In addition to performing the Color Guard ceremony, the cadets had the unique opportunity to engage with state leaders and learn about the League’s vital role in supporting municipal government and building stronger communities throughout Alabama.

Overall, this experience offered the cadets not only a moment of recognition but also a deeper understanding of civic leadership and public service in action.
