NFL Camera Crew in the Innovation Center filming documentary

It is no secret that Columbia has one of the nation's longest high school football losing streaks!

The Athletic Department/Admin Team at Columbia and the Huntsville City School Board hired Sammie Coates in January to “take on the challenge and take the Eagles by its wings!"

Sammie Coates, is a former American football wide receiver who played for both Auburn University and several NFL teams, including the Pittsburgh Steelers, Cleveland Browns, and Houston Texans. Needless to say, we feel very blessed to have him as a part of our staff.

That being said, we are on a mission to end this losing streak and the NFL Films camera crew are here this week to shoot a five-part video series sponsored by Gatorade to document our school’s football season.

Our first game is this Friday, August 22nd against Priceville High School in Decatur Alabama at 7:00PM.

We hope to, “Break a leg” out there for our first game and be “like the eagle, rise above the challenge and soar to victory!”

Go Eagles!
