Here's a look at what's happening in DA NEST this week:
Announcements
The ACT will be administered on Tuesday, March 10th. Only 11th grade students will report to school on this day. Grades 9, 10 and 12 will have a eLearning/virtual day.
Parent Advisory Committee Meeting (PAC) with Parent Coordinator Tuesday, March 10th.
Author Visit with Julia Royston Wednesday, March 11th.
WKO (Workforce Skills Development) testing is Wednesday-Friday.
Spring Break is next week March 16 - 20, 2026.
Academics
Juniors will take ACT test on Tuesday. All other grades, 9, 10 and 12 will have a virtual day, they are not to report to school on Tuesday.
Attendance
Remember 95% attendance is our goal for this school year and we are currently on track. If a scholar has to miss school, please email me personally.

Attitude
Let's remember that no cell phone usage at school is not a Columbia rule but a state law in Alabama. Any student with headphones or cellphones out visible will have the device taken up.
Let's continue to show respect to our teachers and peers on a daily basis.

Tennis will be at Muscle Shoals.
Soccer will travel to Athens.
Softball will be at Mae Jemison.

Tennis will be at Lee High School.
Baseball will travel to Skyline.
Softball will travel to Whitesburg Christian.
Boys Soccer will be at Brooks.
Friday
Baseball at Hazel Green.
Softball will be at home at Hazel Green.
Boys Soccer will be at home against Muscle Shoals.
