With the help of HCS’s Career & Technical Education, Chapman Middle recently hosted an expansive career fair, opening a world of possibilities for our students. The event featured a wide variety of industries, allowing students to move beyond the classroom and begin exploring the diverse future options available to them. From the moment they entered the fair, the energy was high as students engaged with professionals to learn about the different paths they can take after graduation.
The fair was packed with interactive opportunities that brought various professions to life. Huntsville Fire Department and HEMSI were major hits, bringing hands-on activities that allowed students to explore specialized equipment and emergency vehicles. For those interested in STEM fields, representatives from Mazda-Toyota Manufacturing and experts in environmental sciences showcased how science and math apply to global industries. Additionally, Drake State Community and Technical College was on hand to help students navigate specific career pathways and educational requirements.
The North AL Homebuilding Academy provided a unique look into the trades, bringing their portable classroom for students to explore. This mobile workshop gave students a literal "look inside" the construction and carpentry industry. Beyond technical skills, students also focused on their personal futures by learning about banking and finances from Redstone Federal Credit Union.
This event was enjoyed by all students and served as a powerful spark for discussions about potential high school classes and career goals beyond. We are so proud of our students for their curiosity and professional engagement throughout the day!
