Innovation and teamwork were on full display as Chapman Middle School’s GreenPower team competed in the middle school event. What makes this even more impressive? The entire team is comprised of 6th graders who took on the challenge of a brand-new car build for the 2025-2026 season.

From the initial construction to the final lap, this was a truly student-led endeavor. Under the guidance of club sponsor Ms. Jones, the students were given the driver's seat both literally and figuratively. Ms. Jones provided expert advice when asked, but allowed the students to take the lead on every major decision.

The day wasn't without its challenges, but the Chapman team proved they are more than just drivers; they are engineers. Despite several technical hiccups and obstacles, the team functioned as a solid unit, troubleshooting issues in the pits and keeping their spirits high.

Congratulations to our 6th-grade innovators for representing Chapman Middle with such grit and collaboration!
