I hope you are enjoying an extra day with your family. Please be advised that, due to the threat of severe weather, Huntsville City Schools (HCS) will operate on a 2-hour delay on Tuesday, Jan. 27. This precaution is being taken to ensure the safety of our students, families, and staff.
Challenger 40th Anniversary Commemoration - "Reaching for the Stars: The 40th Anniversary Commemoration of the Challenger Mission"
On January 28 at 9:00 a.m., we will host a special commemoration ceremony honoring the anniversary of the Challenger Shuttle Disaster. Due to space limitations, students in grades 4–8 (CES and CMS) will attend the ceremony in the cafeteria. The ceremony will also be broadcast via ETV so that all remaining classes may participate from their classrooms.
STEM Night – January 29
Join us for CES 2026 STEM Night on January 29, an exciting evening filled with hands-on STEM learning activities designed to engage and inspire our scholars.
We are especially excited to offer a Speedometry™ parent-and-student workshop, featuring Hot Wheels®. This is a collaborative experience where parents or guardians will work alongside their student(s).
We can’t wait to see you as we celebrate learning, innovation, and discovery together! Thank you for your continued partnership and support.
Important Reminders:
Independent Arrival: We kindly ask that parents no longer walk or escort scholars to class. Our dedicated staff will be stationed in the hallways to guide and support scholars to their classrooms.
Morning Arrival: School opens at 7:30 a.m. For safety reasons, please do not drop off students before this time, as supervision is not available prior to 7:30 a.m.
Start of Instruction: Learning begins promptly at 8:00 a.m. Please ensure your scholar arrives on time each day so they can start the day ready to learn and succeed.
