4th graders lined up throwing spears outside on the fieldtrip

Our fourth graders had an exciting hands-on adventure as they explored the lives, skills, and traditions of Native Americans during their recent field trip! Students got to experience some of the skills used by Native Americans, including practicing spear throwing and bow-and-arrow techniques. They also learned how to use GPS technology to navigate and find their way, discovering how important navigation and understanding the land have been throughout history. Another highlight was learning about bartering and how Native Americans traded goods and resources before money was used. Through these interactive activities, students gained a better understanding of how Native Americans lived, worked, traded, and used the resources around them. It was a day full of exploration, new discoveries, and hands-on learning that brought history to life!
