4x4 post in the ground with clear cylindrical container used to collect and measure precipitation

Hampton Cove Elementary’s fourth-grade gifted class has teamed up with the National Weather Service (NWS) in an exciting new partnership. The school is now the first in North Alabama to become an official weather station. Each day, students will record and report local weather conditions directly to the NWS. Their observations will include temperature readings and precipitation measurements. This hands-on project gives students a unique opportunity to contribute to real scientific data collection.
